Gerena hunters encounter

On November 24, 1978, two hunters were in the countryside near Gerena, northwest of Seville, when they encountered an unexpected light and a strange figure among the scrub and olive country. The men described a low rounded or domed object giving off light. Near it stood a very tall dark figure, humanlike in outline but rigid or mechanical in appearance. Its most striking feature was a pair of intense red lights where eyes would be expected. The hunters watched from a distance, uncertain whether they were seeing a person, machine or something else. As the situation developed, the witnesses became frightened and withdrew. Published versions differ in small details about movement, distance and whether the figure approached. The stable elements are the rural night setting, two witnesses, the tall dark form, red eye lights and a nearby luminous object. The report entered Spanish and international humanoid catalogues, but it lacks the depth of documentation available for cases supported by official files or extensive contemporaneous interviews. No photograph, physical sample or uniquely identifiable ground trace is known. Later illustrations often turn the figure into a heavily armored monster, adding visual certainty that the testimony does not provide. Possible explanations include another hunter or person in unusual equipment, an optical combination of vehicle lights and terrain, or a fabricated story. With the accessible evidence, no conclusion is secure. CE3 is retained because the two witnesses reported a nearby anomalous figure associated with an object. The portrait holds the guns lowered and shows no attack. It preserves the reported visual elements while marking the scene as an illustrative reconstruction.
