Case description
A story translated into French in 1995 places forester Huang Yongsheng, 62, and his wife Zhang Jiuhua at Jiulongshan in Hubei on 13 August 1988. During a violent afternoon storm, they reportedly saw a dark object above the trees. It landed near their wooden house, brightened, and appeared as an inverted bowl. Two red beams emerged; one allegedly blinded the couple, and Huang was drawn toward the craft.
The roughly five-metre object supposedly became transparent. Huang described two thin, mouse-faced beings with hairy heads, pointed ears and chins, tiny eyes, unusually long arms and grey clothing. Inside, a boxlike device and screen allegedly showed another world and conveyed astronomical explanations. Returned home, he believed minutes had passed, while his wife said he had been missing two days. The story adds a failed return meeting on 20 August, after he disclosed the encounter.
The accessible provenance runs through François Couten’s translation, credited to Liu Xiaoqiang and CURO; a Chinese primary interview was not established in the searches. Gross classifies it as a contactee tale and notes missing investigative verification. The illustration combines the doorway observation and transparent-craft interior, preserving the distinctive reported beings without depicting harm.
