Bournbrook entity encounter — 1901

Jenny Randles and Philip Barnet investigated this story after a Daily Express series in February 1978 prompted an elderly man, called Frank for anonymity, to describe an experience from summer 1901. He said he had been ten and was using a path behind his family's terraced house in Bournbrook. The published FSR account explicitly cautioned that the approximately seventy-seven-year interval made details uncertain. Frank recalled a green-blue metallic box or hut with a central turret, no windows and a small outward-opening door. Two short, clean-shaven men with ordinary human faces emerged. They wore grey-green uniforms without insignia and dark ear-covering headgear with projecting wires. One stayed by the door while the other gestured for him to keep back. After they re-entered, a bright circular flash allegedly surrounded the object before it rose with a rushing noise and a red rear light. The recollected heights of the men, door and machine were inconsistent and were revised during the discussion. Frank reported no injury and no inspected traces. Alleged neighbours who heard or saw the departure were not independently identified in the article. He described a peculiar vehicle rather than claiming he recognised extraterrestrials at the time. The plate preserves the small box and human-looking uniforms while labelling the long reporting delay and uncertain dimensions.
