Case description
The Nuriootpa story is recorded in Keith Basterfield’s catalogue as an incident said to have happened around 1913 in South Australia. Its documentation is much later. In 2004, Darryl Tiggeman told Basterfield that he remembered a radio talkback programme featuring Adelaide ufologist Colin Norris around 1984. That remembered broadcast, roughly seventy years after the supposed incident, is the identified source chain; it is not a surviving statement from the farmer himself.
The short account says an unnamed farmer discovered a landed object and that a humanoid emerged from it. The farmer was reportedly “zapped” and left with lasting paralysis. A later catalogue calls the object metallic, but the accessible account supplies no dependable craft dimensions or shape and no description of the figure’s height, face, skin, clothing or equipment. It does not establish how any alleged effect was produced, how long the event lasted, who subsequently treated the farmer or whether anyone else witnessed it.
No contemporary newspaper report, broadcast recording, identified witness or medical documentation has been recovered to substantiate the sequence. Later speculation that the unexplained word implied an abduction or medical procedure goes beyond the surviving report and is not adopted here. Both the approximate date and the severe source gap must remain visible. The plate is a contextual rural reconstruction with an anonymous farmer and indistinct reported forms; it does not pretend to know the vehicle’s engineering or the humanoid’s appearance, and it does not depict an invented attack mechanism.
