Case description

The Chrysville story was attributed to an anonymous correspondent called Y in an Allentown newspaper account dated 16 February 1964. He placed the experience in summer 1933, about thirty years earlier, while driving toward Nazareth between the localities printed as Chrysville and Morrestown. Neither the exact day nor the precise site is verified, so the imported 1 July date should not be treated as certain. He said a flat tyre stopped his car around 02:30. A violet glow in a nearby field drew him to a smooth, cold, metallic ovoid roughly 10 feet across and 6 feet high. Through a small circular door he allegedly saw a chilly, violet-lit interior containing dials, tubing, marble-like walls and a central console. He reported an ammonia smell, inspected the exterior, then returned to repair his tyre and leave after about ten minutes. He saw no occupants, landing or departure. The suggestion that instruments implied a pilot is an interpretation, not an entity observation. The recovered trail leads through later catalogues and Jerome Clark's source discussion; the anonymous original claim could not be independently tested here. Gross assesses probable hoax, without a recovered confession. The plate consequently shows an unoccupied object and labels the late anonymous reporting and uncertain locality.
