Case description
Later catalogues place this alleged contact at Peñón de los Baños, Mexico City, on 13 March 1950. A resident supposedly encountered a propeller-equipped vessel, described in the inherited account as roughly nine by six metres, and conversed with its pilot. The catalogue chain cites El Universal of 14 March and the Durango Herald of 19 March, but the original articles were not recovered here.
The visitor allegedly claimed to come from Mars, where cities were underground, described Venus as hot and inhabited by flying reptiles, and predicted that Martians would colonise Earth after a world war. These are attributed statements within the story, not astronomical findings. Retellings disagree on whether the conversation was in Spanish or English and on whether a sulphurous smell accompanied the occupant or remained after departure.
No witness identity or dependable description of the pilot’s body, face or clothing survives in the reviewed material. Patrick Gross’s source comparison considers invention, newspaper invention or parody the likely explanation. The plate labels the story disputed, leaves the pilot’s appearance unresolved and does not depict its planetary assertions as reality. Propeller placement and hull geometry remain illustrative because the short account does not define them.
