Southern Manitoba, Canada
Open this case in the interactive Atlas
Case description
A young girl in southern Manitoba, Canada, later recalled an unusual incident while collecting eggs at her grandfather's farm during the summer of 1950. Her accessible memory was of finding herself in the yard with an unexplained cut on her leg. No exact farm location or encounter day is supplied; July 31 in the imported date field should not be treated as a confirmed date.
Later hypnotic sessions produced descriptions of a softly illuminated, enclosed room, a couch, unusual occupants, and communication about taking a small sample from her. Different summaries vary in how much of the figures' appearance they describe. These details belong to the later recollection rather than a continuous childhood account preserved at the time.
The case is associated with Budd Hopkins's work and Thomas Bullard's comparative catalogue. INTCAT identifies the witness by initials and places the hypnosis in 1979. The illustration represents the farm setting, leaving the later examination narrative separate from the original yard-and-injury memory.
