Dar-Es-Salaam abduction report — 1950

A young girl at Dar es Salaam, then in Tanganyika and now Tanzania, reportedly awoke to a vibrating sound outside her home one night in 1950. She described a prickling sensation and a feeling of being watched before noticing a small figure near the foot of her bed. The figure was described as roughly seventy-five centimetres tall, with a pale grey face, a prominent domed head, pointed chin, and large eyes. When it approached, the child screamed. Her father came into the room, but the figure was no longer visible. The available account does not say that he saw it himself. The source trail leads to Jenny Randles's Abduction, with INTCAT giving the girl's age as five. No exterior craft or taking from the house appears in this sequence. The inherited record title should therefore not substitute an abduction for what is described as a bedroom encounter. Only the year is established in the catalogue; no December day should be inferred.
