Cocoa entity encounter — Spring 1950
Cocoa, Florida, United States

Case description
The recoverable Cocoa entry is unusually brief. It places an observation in spring 1950, at approximately 1 a.m., on a road near Cocoa, Florida, and identifies a single witness only by the surname McLendon. Its entire substantive claim is that an unidentified object and its occupants were observed at close range. The imported spreadsheet contained the impossible date 31 April 1950. That is a data error, not a reason to invent a replacement day; the season and year are the defensible date precision.
The published abstract attributes the information to David Webb’s HUMCAT catalogue, but a fuller case statement has not been recovered in this research. The accessible CUFOS scan covering 1950–1951 did not yield a Cocoa or McLendon entry in its searchable text. The abstract gives neither the number and appearance of the occupants nor the object’s shape, colour, dimensions or movements. It also supplies no conversation, duration, landing sequence, departure account or subsequent investigation.
This record should therefore remain a source-limited report rather than acquire details from better-known Florida cases. Even the witness’s age, occupation and given name remain unresolved. No physical trace, photograph, medical effect or abduction is documented in the recovered account. The illustration is explicitly contextual: a nighttime Florida roadside and an anonymous observer, with an unresolved light rather than invented machinery or recognisable alien anatomy. Recovering the particular original HUMCAT case sheet would be necessary before a more precise encounter reconstruction could be justified.
