Case description
The Mazatlán record concerns a Mexican naval officer’s aerial sighting on March 8, 1950. Loren Gross’s recovered January–March 1950 history separates it from the contemporary Mexican crash rumours. A reproduced March 10 newspaper dispatch identifies Commander M. Maliachi Arias and says he watched the object through a telescope.
The officer reportedly described a fast-moving object with polished sides reflecting sunlight, interpreting it as an artificial device. His suggestion that it was the same thing reported over Durango is an inference, not a demonstrated tracking link. A precise time, duration, measured distance and detailed drawing were not recovered. Nothing in this report describes occupants, a landing or an inspection of a vehicle on the ground.
The imported paragraph abruptly adds airliners, air-traffic staff and military jets at Vandalia, Ohio. That is a separate location and observation, and is excluded from the Mazatlán scene. Dimmick’s alleged crash and small pilot are also different claims. The plate shows a representative naval observer with a telescope and a distant metallic glint over contextual coastline. Uniform details, viewpoint and object shape are illustrative rather than a recovered photograph or sketch.
