Case description
The fuller recovered press extract concerns an unnamed doctor from Caracas travelling with his father near La Floresta. Loren Gross’s chronological reconstruction places the incident at 6: 30 p.m. on 8 December 1954, because the article in El Universal dated 10 December said it occurred two days earlier. Later catalogues often use 10 December as the event date. The imported record provides only 1954; that should not obscure the distinction between a newspaper’s publication date and the date inferred from its wording.
The car was travelling between La Carlota airfield and Francisco de Miranda Avenue. As it rounded a curve near thick trees and bushes, the father drew the driver’s attention to something beside the road. The doctor braked and reportedly saw two small humanlike figures running into the vegetation. Moments later, a very luminous silver disc rose from the same thicket and departed rapidly, accompanied by a sharp whistle or sizzling sound. The report gives no reliable figure height, clothing, face or anatomy and does not describe anyone boarding the object.
The newspaper presented the men as respectable people who wished to avoid publicity and quoted them as knowing of no other observers. Those character assurances are part of the press account, not independent confirmation of the reported beings or their connection to the departing light. No original photograph, physical trace or identified witness interview was recovered here. The illustration is clearly a sequence composite, placing the two briefly seen figures and the later departing disc within one readable scene; it does not assert that a simultaneous group portrait or close inspection occurred.
