Case description

Lelah H.Stoker reported an unusual object over Lake Michigan at Chicago on April 8, 1954, between about 4:30 and 5 p.m. NICAP’s case directory preserves the account and links the Project Blue Book summary. Stoker described a brilliant, rounded white object whose shape reminded observers of a parachute, with a humanlike form suspended underneath. She reportedly called the Coast Guard, and a cutter appeared after approximately ten minutes. The object approached the shoreline, where she said a short figure in a tight green one-piece suit got out and walked among the undergrowth. After the cutter withdrew, the figure allegedly returned and the object moved over the lake before departing rapidly eastwards. The cutter’s reported presence is not a separate statement from its crew confirming a landing or occupant. The accessible summary supplies no authenticated photograph, recovered craft or resolved facial description. Blue Book’s unidentified classification records an unresolved report rather than a finding of alien visitation. The plate shows Stoker observing from a lakeside building, the rounded object and the green-suited figure near the shore; its combined view and human likenesses are illustrative.

UFOS IN YOUR HOMETOWN: EPISODE TEN

Watch video · Preston Dennett

Retells Stoker’s April 8, 1954 Chicago report. The episode gives 2:30 p.m.; the Atlas source summary gives approximately 4:30–5 p.m. The reported Coast Guard cutter is not independent crew confirmation, and Blue Book’s unidentified status does not establish alien visitation. Film gives 14:30 versus directory’s16:30–17:00, and dramatizes certainty about origin. The Coast Guard boat’s reported presence does not establish a separate crew statement confirming an occupant. Blue Book unidentified means unresolved, with no authenticated image, recovered craft or facial description.
