Case description
Lawrence Cardenas reportedly saw an unusual gathering while driving to his laundry job in Dearborn, Michigan, around 4:45 a.m. on September 30, 1954. Harold Wilkins's version describes a road-construction area beside a traffic signal; Cardenas's age varies between 41 and 45. Roughly fifteen human-looking men stood near the equipment, wearing dark-green uniforms, pointed-front caps, heavy goggles and cylinder-like apparatus on their shoulders.
A taller man in brown appeared to address them in an unfamiliar language. Cardenas also described an oval object on the grass about 250 feet away, approximately twelve feet high, with smoothly finned, seashell-like sides and flickering coloured lights above. He continued toward work. No observed arrival, boarding or departure independently established the men's relationship to the object.
HUMCAT gives fourteen small figures and records an important adverse follow-up: a Detroit Free Press investigation reportedly obtained a lie-detector result indicating that the story was false, citing November 28, 1954, page 1. That article and the examination itself were not recovered here, so this is an attributed test result rather than an examined confession. Later repetition often omits it. The figures' reported clothing and ordinary proportions do not justify substituting modern grey-alien anatomy.
