Case description
The Cremona report was attributed to two young men, Pietro Alberini and Pericle Sacchi, who said they were out hunting on November 2, 1954. Later catalogues give slightly different hours, generally around late afternoon or early evening. Their story circulated in contemporary Italian newspapers and subsequently entered Vallée's catalogue as an entity encounter without an associated observed aircraft.
The men reportedly encountered a figure approximately one metre tall. Descriptions give a rubberlike suit or head covering, a helmet, and a flexible tube leading from the face to a cylindrical container on the back. As they approached, the figure allegedly operated something on its clothing and became enveloped in a bluish cloud. The witnesses said they ran away. Nothing in this sequence establishes a landed craft, and a spacecraft should not be added to its illustration.
The important follow-up is a reported admission by Sacchi to Italian investigator Francesco Izzo in 1976. HUMCAT preserves a corrective entry identifying the case as a hoax and citing Sacchi's letter; Rogerson's later catalogue likewise records the admission. The entry therefore documents a fabricated story and its subsequent correction, rather than an unexplained encounter that remained untouched by investigation. The neutral plate represents the later letter-and-inquiry context and does not portray the invented being as a real photographed visitor.
