Case description
A report attributed to the Tehran newspaper Ettela'at of 15 October 1954 describes a resident of Shamsabad visiting its editorial office. He said that at approximately 06:30 the previous morning, 14 October, he had seen a bright, star-like object while leaving his house. The particular Shamsabad locality is not securely identified in the recovered translation.
The anonymous man estimated the object at about 5 metres long and initially about 100 metres away. As he approached, he said he saw a short young man on a circular metallic part in the middle of the radiant object, looking around. At roughly 20 metres he interpreted the figure's expression as laughter at his own fear. The object then allegedly shot upward and disappeared. No conversation, physical contact or abduction is reported in this sequence.
HUMCAT and Loren Gross preserve a translation through Gordon Creighton's source work, but the original Persian clipping and an independently identified witness were not recovered here. A separate Tehran attempted-abduction story printed in the same reporting context must remain separate. The plate shows one ordinary human-looking figure and an incompletely resolved luminous vehicle, labelling the uncertain locality; clothing, portrait, architecture and hull details are illustrative.
