Case description
The imported La Madière entry corresponds to a story printed as La Badière, near Alleyrat in the Creuse. La Montagne of 28 October 1954 described Mr Bousard, aged 47, returning from the town hall by bicycle around 22:45, commonly assigned to 26 October. His name and locality acquired variant spellings in later catalogues.
He said a crouching roadside figure stood up, revealing a diver-like outfit and two powerful pale-blue lamps, with weaker green lights beside its head. He attributed being thrown across the road and unable to call out for about ten minutes to a pressure or gust associated with the figure. The newspaper reported discomfort, a swollen hand, an undamaged bicycle and a small disturbed patch of ground. These observations did not establish the extraordinary cause he proposed. No craft was reported.
Figuet and Ruchon later attributed the account to an invention intended to explain injuries from a beating by young people. Another retelling about shooting at a stranded motorist appears to have confused this with a different incident. Those source histories must remain separate. The plate labels the later hoax attribution and depicts the original claim before the alleged effects, with no invented saucer, injury scene or medical procedure.
