Case description
The Les Jonquerets-de-Livet entry combines reports that later investigations treated as separate episodes. Contemporary newspapers describe farmer Gilbert Hée, also spelled Haye, seeing red and green lights joined by a dark elongated body near his pasture while gathering pears. Other participants were Jean Chéradame and René Marais. Published dates range around October 25–27, 1954, and reported ages and times differ.
The familiar catalogue sequence has Hée observe the object first, a young motorcyclist suffer a sudden failure later, and two short beings in shining armour appear beside the craft before a silent departure. However, the 1976 Mesnard/Bigorne reinterview, summarised in HUMCAT, places the men's encounter separately from Hée's later sighting. It describes roughly 1.6-metre featureless luminous forms, lacking visible arms and legs, which divided while approaching and merged again as they withdrew. It also places the moped trouble afterward, when Chéradame tried to leave.
These are material differences in chronology and appearance, not decorative variations. Another later inquiry described an indistinct luminous display and questioned any link with the moped failure. Proposed sunset or other conventional explanations were disputed in turn. None of this permits combining all reported witnesses, cows, craft and beings into one supposedly corroborated scene. The plate explicitly selects the later reinterview's luminous forms and unresolved light source, leaving the farmer's pear-gathering episode separate and retaining the source uncertainty.
