Case description
An unnamed agronomist and his family were said to have encountered a landed disc near Porto Alegre on 10 November 1954. The story appears in Lorenzen's books and subsequent accounts by Vallée and Gordon Creighton. The recovered source comparison could not establish an original firsthand report, precise site or observation time; multiple later repetitions therefore should not be counted as separate corroboration.
The family allegedly saw two men of normal height emerge from the object. They had long hair and clothing resembling coveralls, and approached the car with their arms raised. Creighton's version identifies the passengers as the witness's wife and daughter, who urged him to leave. As the family accelerated away, they supposedly saw the men return to the disc, which rose and departed at extraordinary speed.
No extraordinary facial anatomy, recorded speech, physical interaction or abduction is described. The story does not provide clothing colours, craft dimensions or authenticated photographs. Gross assesses the information as insufficient, rather than demonstrating either an extraterrestrial encounter or a specific hoax. The plate shows the approach phase with ordinary human-looking, long-haired men and the whole disc. Family portraits, daughter's age, car, hull, terrain and daylight are explicitly illustrative because those details are unresolved.
