Farm Hill vehicle pursuit — January 7 1958

At about 11:45 p.m. on January 7, 1958, twenty-one-year-old Brian Crittendon was driving near Farm Hill, Australia, when a dome-shaped object began following his car. The object projected a narrow beam of light toward the ground and remained roughly fifty meters away and ten meters above the ground. Frightened, Crittendon continued driving despite a partly flat tire. The object followed him for approximately five kilometers, then overtook the car at a speed exceeding one hundred kilometers per hour.
