Case description
Danielle Ponner, aged twelve, reportedly woke to a bright glow at her family’s home in Bomel, Saint-Maudan, in November 1954. The contemporary newspaper wording places it on the previous Thursday around 6 a.m., supporting November 18; other catalogues use November 14. The original report appeared in Le Courrier Indépendant on November 27.
From a window she allegedly saw a sparkling, boatlike object close to the house, with two small hairy figures apparently gathering apples. She became frightened and called her parents; the light and object then disappeared. This is not an independently witnessed arrival and takeoff. The imported Hatch summary instead gives three figures, a difference that should remain visible rather than silently multiplying the original newspaper’s two.
Later commentators proposed an experience around waking or an ordinary misperception, while others retained it as unexplained. The short press item supplies no decisive evidence for either an extraterrestrial event or a demonstrated hoax. The plate uses two hairy figures and a boatlike craft seen by the girl through her window, with a month-only caption.
