Case description
Mrs. Besnier, a farm woman in her sixties, reported an encounter at Le Petit Cotillon in Blaison, Maine-et-Loire, on November 20, 1954, during the middle of the afternoon. She had fetched onions and garlic from an attic and was descending an outside stone staircase when she noticed a circular object in the farmyard, approximately the size of a substantial round table.
She said a small, child-sized figure rushed toward her and took onions from the fold of her apron. Other similar figures were reportedly nearby. They appeared humanlike, with yellowish skin and small piercing dark eyes, wearing brown suits that covered their bodies. She compared their backpacks to small agricultural sprayers and described a tube near the mouth or hood. Besnier fell backward and did not watch them re-enter the object. After rising, she saw a brilliant point move away high in the sky.
Regional journalists interviewed her and sought comments from neighbours and the mayor, who regarded her as ordinarily calm. Such character testimony records the response to her story, not independent observation of its events. The contemporary account describes a fall and subsequent distress; the compact catalogue's paralysis and possible missing time should not be converted into established medical findings or an abduction sequence.
