Case description
Giovanni Aquilante, a farmer at Gricignano di Aversa near Caserta, Italy, reportedly disappeared while going to work in December 1954 and returned about two days later. The imported date is December 9; an International UFO Reporter review instead dates his disappearance to December 8. The accounts also disagree about his age.
Aquilante said that two unusually dressed individuals compelled him to travel with them, describing sensations of flying or weightlessness. His family reportedly searched for him and later emphasized that his clothes were dry despite rain during his absence. The 1989 review says investigator Umberto Telarico revisited the case in 1974, after Aquilante had died, and interviewed his son.
No exterior UFO is described in that review. The report should therefore be presented as a claimed taking by figures rather than an observed spacecraft flight. The source's separate January 1955 cross-reference does not securely establish another episode. The linked video discusses Aquilante in its opening case segment, beginning about 1:21.
