Case description
Lorenzo Flores and Jesús Gómez, teenage workers from Carora, said that they encountered an unusual object while rabbit hunting near the Trans-Andean highway between Chirico and Cerro de las Tres Torres in December 1954. They initially thought it was a car, left their bicycles, and approached. Their description compared the roughly three-meter object to two basins joined together, hovering above the ground with light or flame beneath.
Four short, strongly built, hair-covered figures reportedly emerged and tried to pull Gómez toward it. Flores said that he struck one with his unloaded shotgun, breaking the weapon, and that Gómez escaped during the struggle. They ran to the road; a truck driver assisted them and took them to the Carora police. Their damaged shirts and minor scratches were reported, along with a subsequent police visit to the site.
There is an important date conflict: the Hatch entry uses December 10, while a reproduced El Nacional telegram and the police narrative use December 9. The plate therefore says December 1954. This is an attempted-grabbing report, not an account of completed removal. Its hairy figures follow the described appearance rather than the catalogue's optional generic gray-alien label.
