José Parra, an eighteen-year-old jockey, reportedly went to a National Security office in Valencia after an encounter in December 1954. He said he had been running along the road in the cool of the night when he noticed about six small figures near the highway, apparently collecting stones and putting them into a hovering disc.
When Parra tried to leave, one figure reportedly aimed a small implement that emitted violet light. He said he became unable to move while the figures returned to the object, which departed rapidly. Later accounts describe investigators finding unidentified impressions at the location. Other people reportedly saw a low disc near the Bárbula sanatorium that night, but those observations do not independently establish Parra's reported encounter with the figures.
The date is generally given as December 19, while the hour differs considerably: the inherited entry uses about 2 a.m., and Vallée's version gives 11 p.m. The plate consequently uses December 1954 and shows the stone-collecting phase. The available summaries supply little about the beings' faces, skin or clothes; short humanlike forms are used without adding detailed gray-alien anatomy. The violet-light effect remains Parra's claim, not a demonstrated paralysis mechanism.
