Case description
María Luisa García Holgado de Amaya described an encounter while travelling with a group of Spanish performers from San Rafael toward Mendoza on Route 143, Argentina, on December 28, 1954, around 3:30 a.m. Oscar Uriondo interviewed her years later. The party included singer María Antinea, her husband Enrique Kotliarenco, impresario Agustín Romano Gaeta and flamenco dancers Sol and Teremoto; its size was remembered as about seven or more.
Amaya said they approached a blue luminous object resembling two deep plates joined at their rims. Two slender, normal-height humanlike figures wore dark one-piece outfits covering their heads, with faces indistinct. One crouched before both entered a rectangular doorway. She described vapour, a vertical rise, alternating red lights and an apparent pursuit. Her account eventually ended amid dawn light, when Venus was briefly mistaken for the continuing object.
Later interviews did not uniformly corroborate the occupants. Soraida Escudero, the dancer Sol, reported a distant light but no landing or beings; Romano Gaeta described a different object and explicitly denied seeing figures. Uriondo defended Amaya’s sincerity while acknowledging discrepancies and long delays. The plate follows her version with representative travellers, two covered figures and the blue double-plate craft, labelled as disputed testimony rather than unanimous observation.
