Case description
The Petare entry concerns a family’s reported observation around eight in the evening on June 10, 1955. Its later catalogue trail points to the August 1955 APRO Bulletin and Loren Gross’s historical compilation. An oval object, or several oval objects, allegedly descended toward a nearby hillside amid dark smoke, foglike haze and beams of light.
Figures were said to move in or around the obscuring haze before the object or objects departed eastward. The record gives no reliable description of faces, bodies, clothing, numbers of occupants or a conversation with the witnesses. Those indistinct forms should therefore remain silhouettes, rather than become precisely drawn alien characters or clearly resolved passengers behind windows.
The source comparison identifies a substantial discrepancy: Albert Rosales describes one oval craft, whereas Donald Johnson’s APRO-attributed summary describes five. The imported Atlas follows the five-object version. The family members’ names, ages and exact viewing position are not established in the consulted summaries, and no photograph or analyzed trace is provided. This is a source-limited hillside observation whose conflicting object count remains explicit; its illustration follows the imported version without claiming the uncertainty has been resolved.
