Two families were said to be picnicking beside Lake Erie in the Niagara Falls region when a large silvery object rose from the water. The fuller account places the incident in late July 1955; the ledger assigns July 30 and an evening time, but the surviving narrative does not establish that precise date. The object was estimated at about 100 feet across and reportedly moved in a pendulum-like or swooping manner as it approached the shore.
The families ran to their cars, but both vehicles allegedly failed to start. When the object came within roughly 30 feet, the witnesses reported four humanoid occupants with white heads and black robe-like clothing. After this close approach, the object returned toward the lake and departed vertically. The account connects the vehicle failures with the object's presence, although no mechanical examination or measurement of an electromagnetic effect is supplied.
The case appears in later occupant and vehicle-interference catalogues, including Mark Rodeghier's CUFOS study. Those retellings preserve an unusual combination of a water emergence, visible occupants and two disabled vehicles, but do not provide identified family members, separate signed statements or a firmly located picnic site. The regional designation should therefore not be treated as a surveyed location, and the reported occupants remain witness claims rather than established visitors.
LateJuly rather than securely July30 or precise picnic site. No named separate witnesses or mechanical tests establish vehicle-failure cause; regional label is approximate.
