Case description

Mr. Follon reportedly noticed a strong light while riding his Solex near Barentin and Le Houlme, Normandy, around 11:20 p.m. in September. He first thought a barn was burning. The imported entry and several catalogues use 1956, whereas the fuller Figuet–Ruchon account, citing investigator Freulon, places it in 1959. The plate preserves that unresolved year conflict. After crossing the valley, Follon approached the light and found approximately eight to ten people watching from the roadside trees. He described a metallic saucer hovering less than a metre above the ground, roughly twelve metres across and nine metres high, with an upper antenna and rectangular windows. Three or four ordinary human-form silhouettes were visible inside. Greenish emissions beneath the antenna reportedly lengthened as a strong light shone southward. The object then rose at an angle with increasing noise and departed rapidly. A passing car allegedly lost its headlights and engine power, and Follon reported feeling disturbed afterward. Neither the figures' anatomy nor their origin was established. The reconstruction keeps the observers, window silhouettes and low-hovering object together, while distinguishing the craft's quoted height from its altitude above the ground.
