Case description
A short catalogue entry places four observers at Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, on October 29, 1956, watching a silver, elongated object. Larry Hatch’s database attributes the story to Ivan Sanderson’s Invisible Residents. A separate historical discussion reproduces a November 1956 newspaper account of four men seeing a silent, cigar-shaped object over Tobyhanna in late October.
That newspaper description compares its outline to a Liberator bomber, but without ordinary projecting wings, and mentions two side appendages close to the body. The imported digest additionally says the object disappeared into Harvey Lake. That water-entry claim has not been independently secured here from the cited Sanderson passage and should not be blended with unrelated modern lake sightings.
Neither accessible version supplies a described being, face, conversation or boarding episode. The inherited humanoid code is a research lead rather than a basis for adding visible aliens. The plate shows four representative observers and an elongated silver form above the town; the uncertain lake ending is retained in the text instead of turned into an authenticated underwater event. Witness identities, exact duration and independent investigation remain unresolved.
