Frances Stichler reportedly encountered a low-flying object while doing barn chores near Milford, Pennsylvania, at about 6 a.m. in May 1957. The exact day was not given. Saucer News reproduced the December 19 Milford Dispatch in early 1958, describing a whirring or spinning noise preceding the appearance of a broad-rimmed bowl-shaped craft.
The object was estimated at about twenty feet across and fifteen feet above the ground. It stopped with one side tilted towards her. On the far rim sat a man facing her, his feet and lower legs concealed within the bowl. He wore a tight-fitting light-grey helmet and a loose, shiny suit of the same colour.
Stichler described normal human size, tanned skin, deep-set eyes and a long, questioning-looking face. As she recovered from her surprise, the object moved away towards the southeast with a spinning sound and disappeared. The report contains no exchange of words or witnessed landing.
She reportedly delayed telling the story because nobody else had seen it and she expected disbelief, then spoke during the late-1957 sighting wave. Dimensions vary slightly in later catalogues. The plate preserves the unusual seated position and humanlike appearance rather than supplying an unreported Grey occupant.
