Case description
The July 1957 APRO Bulletin carried a short report credited to Joseph Rolas about an incident near Urimán, Bolívar, on the night of June 5. Several Indigenous residents reportedly brought an injured companion into the village for treatment. An LAV airline captain who was there asked what had happened.
According to the account relayed to him, the group had seen a luminous object descend and small beings emerge. They attempted to seize one of the beings. During that confrontation, one of the villagers allegedly suffered a cut to his arm, and the group released the small figure and hurried away to obtain help. No detailed description of the object, the beings’ faces, their clothing or a departure sequence appears in the contemporary note.
The publication chain matters: the captain told another pilot, who told Rolas, who supplied the report to APRO. The witnesses and treating practitioner are not named, and no clinical record was located. Vallée later characterized the case as undocumented. The bulletin’s dated ethnic generalizations offer no evidence for or against the event and are not repeated here. The plate therefore presents a cautious contextual scene before the alleged confrontation, with ambiguous silhouettes rather than a specific alien species or an invented spacecraft design.
