Soviet witnesses see luminous object descend and land — November 17 1958

At about 10:03 p.m. on November 17, 1958, witnesses at an undisclosed location in the Soviet Union saw a luminous object with an apparent diameter greater than the full moon descending from high altitude. It came down to tree height, hovered, and then landed. The observation lasted approximately two minutes. The surviving chronology does not preserve the witnesses, exact location, object form, landing details, or what happened afterward.
