C-118 passenger sees high-speed silver object west of California — November 20 1958

At about 6:15 a.m. on November 20, 1958, a C-118 transport was flying at approximately eleven thousand feet on a heading of sixty degrees about 840 miles west of Los Angeles. A man in the right seat observed a round silver object at high altitude moving in a straight line at high speed toward the sun. He watched it for approximately fifteen seconds before it left view. The surviving chronology does not preserve the witness’s name, aircraft mission, distance, angular size, or exact disappearance.
