Mrs. Edward Yeager, identified as Marie in a later retelling, lived in a trailer on the Duanesburg–Church Road near Mariaville, New York. She reportedly saw a circular object descend behind a hill and rise again about two minutes later, now very bright. The following day, while she was feeding animals, the same or a similar object returned and approached to within approximately two metres of the ground.
The animals reportedly ran away. Two small, dark humanlike figures came out of the object and went into the woods. The craft remained for about two minutes before leaving, and a subsequent search did not locate the figures. A bus driver was also said to have seen two objects land in a nearby field at the same hour, but that is an additional reported observation rather than direct corroboration of the occupants.
Vallée's catalogue dates the first incident to 10 October 1957, making the figure episode the next day; a later account gives 9–10 October. The imported record compresses both days into one entry. The source trail includes Flying Saucer Review in 1958. No detailed facial anatomy or particular alien species is established. The plate selects the second day's scene and keeps the date at month precision.
