Case description
Richard Kehoe, a telephone-company employee, claimed an encounter along Vista del Mar at Playa del Rey, near Santa Monica, in November 1957 around 5:40 a.m. Sources disagree between November 5 and 6 and between three and four affected cars. The story reached the press during the widespread 1957 vehicle-interference reports.
Kehoe said the cars stalled and their drivers noticed a cream or tan egg-shaped object on the beach, surrounded or supported by metal rings and blue haze. Two humanlike visitors, about 1.6metres tall, allegedly emerged. Fuller descriptions give yellowish-green skin, black leather trousers, white belts and light jerseys. They reportedly asked elementary questions before returning to the object. Versions differ over whether communication was ordinary speech, an unfamiliar language or telepathic.
Other alleged drivers were named as Ronald Burke and Joe Thomas, but the consulted source history does not establish independent corroboration from them. The plate labels the contact report unverified and includes representative drivers, both humanlike visitors and ringed egg craft. It preserves the unusual clothing rather than substituting helmeted greys.
