Case description
John Trasco reportedly met a small figure outside his home at Everittstown, New Jersey, around dusk on November 6,1957. He had gone out to feed King, the family’s Belgian police dog. His wife looked from the kitchen after hearing the dog bark and described a luminous, egg-shaped object bobbing near the barn beyond intervening shrubs.
Trasco’s reported visitor was under a metre tall, with a putty-colored face, prominent frog-like eyes, a nose and chin, green clothing, shiny buttons, gloves and a cap. He interpreted its words as a peaceful request for his dog, then angrily ordered it away. The figure reportedly returned toward the object, which rose rapidly. His wife heard the exchange but did not see the figure through the shrubbery.
The story reached a local newspaper and Civilian Saucer Intelligence; Dick Harpster’s interview with Mrs.Trasco supplied an important reporting link. Alleged green powder was washed off rather than preserved for analysis. No dog or person was reported taken away. The plate shows John, King, the small clothed figure and luminous egg together, with Mrs.Trasco at the window; likenesses and the craft’s surface are illustrative.
