Case description
Hank Mollohan and eight other people reportedly saw an elongated object near Holly, West Virginia, on November 8, 1957. Vallée’s landing catalogue places the observation at about 2:30 p.m. and estimates the object’s length at twelve meters. The Atlas identifies a lakeside setting. The surviving short account does not establish a precise viewing position or how the witnesses first gathered.
The object allegedly swung at low altitude before dropping toward the ground. Several portholes were visible, with what looked like fire and smoke issuing from them. The witnesses thought people were moving around it after it descended. Heavy rain then drove the observers away, ending the reported viewing sequence. There is no detailed description of those apparent figures’ height, faces, clothing or actions, and no described exchange with them.
The case appears as number 437 in Passport to Magonia, with a reference to Aimé Michel’s work. A Library of Congress bibliography also identifies literature about the Holly sighting, but a full contemporary witness interview was not located here. The narrative therefore preserves the limited sequence without supplying a takeoff, recovery operation or explanation for the smoke. The illustration uses distant, indistinct figures in rainy conditions. Their appearance should not be read as an independently documented alien type.
