Case description
The Waterloo entry is a sparse account attributed to Paul Rutledge on the night of November 8, 1957. Jacques Vallée's landing catalogue says that he observed an object approximately sixteen metres long above his garage, with a brightly illuminated upper portion. Two figures were said to be visible inside. The description does not establish a landing or any direct contact.
The Hatch-derived digest gives a smaller estimate of ten metres, an observation lasting roughly thirty minutes and a northward departure. It also refers to separate observers while marking the figures tentatively. The fuller source comparison recovered only the named Rutledge account, so additional independent witness testimony cannot be claimed. No dependable description of the supposed occupants' faces, stature, clothing or actions survives beyond their presence within the illuminated object.
Patrick Gross's review could not reconcile Vallée's abbreviated source reference, M 266, with the Aimé Michel books examined, and reported no original witness document. That unresolved provenance limits the report's evidentiary value without identifying what Rutledge may have observed. The plate uses two indistinct silhouettes inside the bright upper section; the garage, witness likeness and detailed vehicle construction are contextual choices rather than recovered photographic evidence.
