Case description
Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos’s 1976 catalogue records an October 1958 encounter about fifteen kilometres from Figueres toward Girona, near the locality later catalogued as Bàscara. José Luis Angelfi, a forty-year-old businessman travelling on a Guzzi 98 motorcycle, reportedly noticed a bright descending light at approximately 7 p.m. He initially thought an aircraft was in trouble and entered the woodland to investigate.
At an estimated sixty-five metres he saw an intensely illuminated, aluminium-coloured object around eight metres across. It resembled two inverted plates, with several supports extending underneath and a transparent upper cockpit. One figure was visible in the cockpit. Two more, almost one metre tall with large heads and dark, leather-like clothing, moved on the ground below, apparently gathering material.
The catalogue says the object remained at treetop height, rather than resting on the ground as abbreviated summaries imply. Its sound increased before it rose obliquely and departed eastward toward the sea. The observation was estimated at fifteen minutes. Ballester Olmos credited first-hand CEI and BOF material for case 26. The day and identities of the figures remain unestablished. The plate preserves the treetop position, two ground figures and one cockpit figure without inventing facial features or a confirmed biological classification.
