Case description
A report assigned to November 23, 1958, describes engineer Julio M. Ladeleto stopping on a road near Cojutepeque after a can became caught beneath his car. He allegedly saw an unusual object about thirty to thirty-five metres away. The imported entry gives about 11:40 p.m.; Vallée’s catalogue gives 11:35.
The craft was described as bell- or lampshade-shaped, approximately twelve metres wide, with a transparent upper sphere emitting pulsating blue light and three rounded supports beneath it. A tall, bald, humanlike occupant in a blue outfit reportedly inspected its rim. Versions disagree on his height, ranging from about two to two-and-a-half metres. After roughly ten minutes the object was said to depart with a whine or buzz, sparks and smoke. Footprints and impressions from the rounded supports appear in the Lorenzen-derived version.
Vallée’s version also claims photographs and a subsequent visit from unusually well-informed newsmen. Those additions underlie the imported “Men in Black?” note, rather than establishing government involvement. The account’s known publication trail reaches a 1962 Italian magazine article, several years later. Its resemblance to Adamski narratives and missing primary documentation warrant skepticism, but resemblance alone is not a documented confession or proof of fabrication.
