Case description

Jacques Vallée’s catalogue places this report near Syracuse, New York, in the spring of 1960. Its witness is described as an electronics engineer who was fishing at night, but is not named. He reportedly heard a shrill whirring sound and saw a round object with a rotating light on its upper surface descend near the shore. The sound stopped after the object landed and a door opened. Two small figures with disproportionately large heads then emerged carrying a hose. According to the account, they used it to pump water from the river into the object. The figures subsequently behaved playfully, in a manner compared with children. An especially unusual detail is that their bodies appeared luminous and changed colour. These elements distinguish the story from other water-collection reports; the source does not provide a dependable facial description, exact costume, or an identified model of equipment. Vallée lists this as entry 501, crediting Otto Binder. His summary supplies neither the engineer’s name, an exact date, nor a contemporary interview for independent assessment. The imported 21:00 time remains approximate catalogue metadata. The plate combines witness, two figures, hose and round craft, treating unspecified appearance details as artistic interpretation.
