Case description
At about 7 p.m. on May 13, 1960, more than a hundred people at Paracuru, Ceará, Brazil, reportedly watched a large circular object manoeuvre above the town. It was described as dark grey, with a strong light on top, and was compared in size to a craft about sixty feet across.
Olavo Fontes's account placed this observation within a wider night of reports across northeastern Brazil. A separate early-morning episode on May 14 concerned Raimundo dos Santos, who said that he saw two landed objects and small uniformed figures near the coast. The evening crowd and the next morning's single-witness account are different events, not one continuous mass-witness encounter.
The published source trail includes Fontes's 1960 APRO Bulletin series and later chronological compilations. The inherited CE3 label should not imply that the evening crowd saw occupants. This plate depicts the May 13 town observation; alleged landing marks and the figures belong to the separate May 14 account and are not added to the scene.
