Case description
At about 8:30 p.m. on December 9, 1960, a glowing oval object was reportedly seen at rest or just above the ground in a French park. Vallée’s catalogue, citing Ouranos, describes three observers at separate locations, a barking dog, an object roughly four metres across and vague shadows visible inside. It subsequently departed towards the north.
A historical chronology identifies Madame Dhelens at the Château des Mailles as one observer and describes two round portholes with indistinct movement behind them. A circle of yellowed grass, later said to die, was associated with the site. Those reports do not provide a detailed occupant description, a recovered specimen or a witnessed conversation.
Location requires care. The imported record assigns Carignan to the Ardennes, whereas the cited Ouranos investigation and later chronology identify the Gironde/Carignan-de-Bordeaux area. The plate uses the broader “Carignan, France” label while retaining that discrepancy in the text.
The shadowy movement should not become a detailed alien face or a precise count of beings. Likewise, three separate observers are not necessarily three people standing together at the object. The illustration follows the principal window observation with the dog and ambiguous porthole silhouettes; the reported grass change remains a subsequent claim.
