In November 1961, a retired policeman identified in the abduction literature as Carvalheiro Mendes was staying at Pinhal, on the coast of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Around 9:30 p.m., he reportedly felt a compelling urge to walk toward a light on the beach.
As he approached, he said he could distinguish a luminous disc and two short figures beside it. Their headgear reminded him of football helmets. He became reluctant to continue, but reported receiving a message that he should not resist and finding himself unable to move. The figures came toward him, after which his recollection became fragmentary. He remembered a sensation of something scratching his arm.
His next clear awareness was of returning to the beach house at about 11:30 p.m., leaving roughly two hours incompletely accounted for. Later summaries describe him as becoming unusually nervous and withdrawn afterward. The preserved account does not provide a continuous description of the missing interval or a detailed account of a craft interior.

Missing Time with Aliens: Twelve Astonishing Cases
The programme covers the November 1961 Pinhal encounter. The historical written account names Carvalheiro Mendes; the creator’s automatic transcript renders his name differently. No recovered-memory interior sequence is supplied. No exact day. Film instrument-on-forehead differs from preserved arm-scratching fragment. Narration 12:23–12:53 explicitly says he refused hypnosis twice, including Fontes 1966 approach; missing interval and interior remain unknown, not recovered onboard evidence.
