Panambi, Brz being encounter — July 30, 1962

The imported catalogue calls this locality Panambi, but the contemporary Flying Saucer Review item describes a road between Pasnemibi and Pojucara in the Cruz Alta area of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Its source was O Diario of Belo Horizonte, dated August 3, 1962, reporting an event on July 30. Farmer João Lombero and his employee Antônio Garoup said they were travelling toward Lombero's property when their vehicle's engine stopped without an apparent cause. Beside the road they saw a large oval or cylindrical object, compared to a bottle with a neck at each end. The report gives dimensions of approximately forty metres by fifteen metres. Two men, one at either extremity, appeared to exchange luminous signals. After about ten minutes, the object reportedly took off at high speed. The article also mentions people in Cruz Alta seeing a bright object at high altitude, but does not establish that they witnessed the roadside figures or the same close encounter. The available account supplies no detailed anatomy, clothing, spoken message or examination. The plate therefore shows two civilian observers, two indistinct humanlike figures with lights and the unusually described elongated craft, without adding generic grey aliens.
