Case description
A retrospective account places a Spanish Army lieutenant and his aide near the Guadalajara front at approximately 11:30 p.m. on 25 July 1938. While descending a gully, they reportedly encountered a powerful white light. When it subsided, a dark lens-shaped object appeared around sixty metres away, hovering roughly two metres above the ground. It was compared with two joined plates separated by a darker central band.
The fuller narrative estimates dimensions near eleven metres across and five metres high. A cylindrical column or platform descended from underneath, with two apparent humanoid figures visible. A circle of bluish light spread across the ground; the soldiers described feeling cold when it reached them. The light then went out, the central assembly withdrew, coloured sparks appeared, and the two sections seemed to rotate in opposite directions. A bright white glow preceded the object’s rapid upward departure.
The witnesses reportedly considered an unfamiliar military machine. Later ufology accounts reject that interpretation, but do not thereby prove another origin. The main witness remained anonymous, and the accessible material is a later recollection rather than an inspected 1938 operational record. No reliable facial description, conversation, boarding or contact with the two figures survives. The imported spelling Guadalaraja is a transposition of Guadalajara.
