Case description
The brief record north of Adelaide appears to refer to Doris Player’s Gum Creek experience, but its year and figure description are problematic. The detailed CUFOS entry dates the episode to February 3, 1964, about 2 a.m., rather than the imported 1963. Player reportedly woke to find her bedroom brightly illuminated and saw a figure associated with a black, camera-like box directed toward the garden.
The fuller description gives a man about five feet four inches tall with a red face and large nose, blue-green coveralls, a brown jacket with three buttons, a brown balaclava-like head covering, a cord to the left shoulder and long black gloves. The box allegedly buzzed and clicked when directed at plants and then toward her. She reported difficulty speaking and a pale circular appearance near the bed before the light and figure disappeared.
The seven-foot, cape-wearing description belongs to a separate Plympton report sometimes discussed alongside this case. A definite landed saucer and verified missing time are not established in the detailed Gum Creek entry; a later February 19 craft observation is also distinct. The reconstruction therefore uses light-only context and the more specific clothing description. Player’s subsequent contact claims do not independently corroborate this initial nocturnal experience.
