Case description
Four boys near Fern Creek, Kentucky, reportedly saw an unusual aerial object in July 1963. The imported summary gives two boys and July 18; investigator literature describes four children, roughly five to twelve years old, with July 10 appearing in some versions. The more detailed sequence has a cigar-shaped object releasing a smaller disc that descended behind trees.
A short figure allegedly emerged wearing a fitted suit, helmet, goggles and breathing equipment. The boys said two of them threw dirt clods; the figure then pointed a dark rod, producing tingling, pain or minor wounds in different retellings. Those are reported effects, not independently demonstrated consequences of a device. No detailed unmasked face was supplied.
Don Elkins, who said he investigated with Colonel Verne Yahne, described separate interviews with the boys in a 1978 newspaper interview and his book. Agreement among interviews is his reported assessment, not proof of origin. The plate shows four boys, one suited figure, small disc and larger cigar craft at a nonviolent moment. The linked anthology’s Fern Creek segment is a verified case match, with playback not independently tested.
