Saskatoon, Ssk being encounter — September 19, 1963

Four children reportedly encountered an unusual light and a very tall figure behind a school in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, at about 8 p.m. on September 19, 1963. The circulating account describes an oval light moving or circling above the area and an apparent box-like object descending toward the ground. When the children approached, they said they saw a humanlike figure approximately ten feet tall, dressed in a white, monk-like garment. Its appearance was partly transparent. The figure held its hands out and made sounds the children could not understand. Eleven-year-old Brian Whitehead was identified in published retellings of the incident. The children became frightened, and one girl was reportedly treated for shock. That aftermath is part of the account, rather than evidence that the figure physically attacked anyone. The case entered Jacques Vallée’s landing catalogue and later appeared in a discussion by Mark Cashman in International UFO Reporter. The surviving descriptions connect the figure with the light and descending object, but do not describe an abduction or an examination aboard a craft.
