Near Monte Maiz, Arg being encounter — October 12, 1963

Truck driver Eugenio Douglas reported an encounter near Monte Maíz, Córdoba, Argentina, during a rainy October night in 1963. The imported catalogue gives October 12 at about 3:30 a.m.; researcher Roberto Banchs's later reconstruction places the episode in the early hours of October 11. The disagreement remains unresolved here. Douglas described a brilliant object obstructing his route and several very tall figures emerging. He said that a red light caused painful sensations, that he fired a revolver, and that he fled toward town. Subsequent accounts associated the event with damage to the truck and unusual tracks. Banchs's inquiry distinguishes those claims from what police and later witnesses could establish: a truck in a roadside ditch and Douglas's own flight, without securely documented traces of the alleged craft or figures.
